उदासी भरी उन आँखों से पूछो

क्या मेह्सूस वो आँखें हैं करतीं।
वो जो आज सुबह गया था अपने काम पर
क्या जानता था न रात तक पहुँचेगा घर
वो जो सुरज के ढलने पर देखता है एक नये दिन का राह
क्या जानता था न होगी उसके लिये अब कभी सहर।

N well the poem is simply trying to say that someone is waiting eagerly, n uselessly for her loved ones to return as darkness takes over ...
n the people who are the victims of the traumatic attack couldn't ever imagine that they wouldn't be returning home at nightfall, n their hopes for a new day after the night are all grayed out...
